I never imagined that I would ever
be teaching middle and high school
students. In fact, teaching at any
level was never a profession that
I had considered. And yet, in the
wisdom of God, I find myself
teaching 6th, 7th, and 9th grade
Bible classes and 5th, middle,
and high school Music classes to students of many different nationalities in Phnom Penh, |

Cambodia. I’m from the beautiful state of Colorado where I grew up
on a small farm as the youngest of 7 children. I graduated from
Moody Bible Institute in 2005 with a BA in Applied Linguistics. I then
went on to do an MA in Biblical Exegesis at Wheaton College,
graduating in May, 2007. With this education I had planned to get
involved with Bible translation somewhere in SE Asia, a desire
that lingers in seed form waiting for God’s direction.
When my sister-in-law first told me about an open position for a Bible
teacher at the school where her four sons attend, my immediate
reaction was a definite no. “Me! A teacher! That’s ridiculous!” But
God clearly outlined how this job was in fact an answer to prayer on
many different levels. So, with more fear of failure and more
questions unanswered than I had ever known, I took this crazy job
and arrived half way around the world 3 months to the day after
graduation. I have a passion for studying the Bible, and I find great joy in
watching my students grasp the truth of God’s word. Having been
surrounded by music my whole life, I am also blessed to teach music
at Logos. It is one of the most beautiful gifts God has given to us. |
