International Trips Cancelled

Due to the recent Coronavirus outbreak, we have decided to cancel all international trips for students through at least the end of March. With a number of countries imposing travel restrictions and health screenings at border crossings, we do not want to risk any of our students getting stuck or quarantined in another country while on a school trip. This will impact our upcoming international MUN trips, as well as our Senior Class Trip. We are sorry for this inconvenience.

From the Nurse – The tide is turning

The WHO is encouraged by the continued decline in Covid-19 cases in China. They have found that the epidemic peaked and plateaued between the 23rd of January and the 2nd of February, and has been declining steadily since then. They have found that there has been no significant change in the DNA of the virus. They found that the fatality rate is between 2% and 4% in Wuhan, and 0.7% outside Wuhan. They found that for people with mild disease, recovery time is about two weeks, while people with severe or critical disease recover within three to six weeks. This is good news! Influenza is a serious global health threat that impacts all countries: every year, there are an estimated 1 billion cases, 3-5 million severe cases, and 290,000-650,000 influenza-related respiratory deaths worldwide. Covid-19 is nowhere near these levels as of today!

Check out this family safe video about Covid-19.
