International Trips Cancelled

Due to the recent Coronavirus outbreak, we have decided to cancel all international trips for students through at least the end of March. With a number of countries imposing travel restrictions and health screenings at border crossings, we do not want to risk any of our students getting stuck or quarantined in another country while on a school trip. This will impact our upcoming international MUN trips, as well as our Senior Class Trip. We are sorry for this inconvenience.

Updated Middle School Device Policy

Beginning Thursday, January 30, middle school students will not be allowed to use personal cell phones, tablets, or other small mobile devices on the Logos campus between 8:00 am and 3:15 pm. All phones and tablets must be turned off and stowed away in students’ backpacks or lockers during the school day. This new policy will be in effect for the rest of the school year.

Students with laptops and Chromebooks may only use their laptop/Chromebook in class for school work with teacher permission.  Middle school students may also use laptops or Chromebooks in the library for academic purposes during lunch or break time.

If students are caught with phones or tablets out of their backpacks or lockers during the school day, teachers and staff members will confiscate the device and bring it to the office. Parents may pick up their students’ phones or tablets after school.

After School Session #3

Session #3 of the Elementary After School Program will begin next Tuesday, Feb. 18.  All activities will be from 3:30-4:30. Please make the appropriate arrangements to pick up your student at that time.  Registration forms are going home via the classrooms. If you are interested in signing your child up, please return the form with the payment to the front office by Monday the 17th.

Our special guest speakers are experienced professionals in counseling and university transitioning for third culture kids.

Elementary Talent Show Auditions

The Elementary Talent Show will be March 20, 2020.  The theme is “Make a Joyful Noise,” based on Psalm 100:1-2. Students can start practicing, and sign up for auditions on February 12-13. We are encouraging students to consider presenting a unique talent.  We are looking for a variety of different acts. Interested students can get an audition form from their teacher and turn it in to Ms. Rai (Gr.1) or Ms. Chheang (Gr. 2).
Talent show auditions forms need to be turned in before the auditions (February 12-14).
Please contact Ms. Rai (prai@asianhope.org) with any questions.

Volunteer History Day Judges Needed

We’re looking for volunteer History Day Judges on Thursday, February 27. The Grades 6, 7, 8, 9 & 10 History students will be diligently working on papers, exhibits, websites, plays, and documentaries revolving around the theme of Breaking Barriers in History for Logos’ Fourth Bi-annual History Day, which will be held at Logos on Thursday, February 27.
We are seeking about 10 adult volunteers to help judge the students’ entries from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm. Judges for some categories do not need to be present for the entire day, so it is possible for volunteers to help out for only a few hours. Judges also do not need to be historical experts; they just need to have a good grasp of the English Language and a willingness to offer their opinions. If you or someone you know is interested in helping, please contact Mrs. Young at jyoung@asianhope.org.

From the Nurse

Thank you for all your cooperation, working with us to keep our campus safe and healthy during this season of Influenza and Corona Virus.  We are pleased to report that Logos remains virus free.

Moving forward, if you have plans to travel outside of the country, please notify the school nurse so that necessary arrangements can be made to keep our campus healthy. Specifically, if you have travel plans to China/Hong Kong, please be aware that we are following the CDC and WHO recommendations, which  means currently that upon return to Cambodia there would be a mandatory 14-day self quarantine – no school. This applies to any visitor from China/Hong Kong who stays in your house, so if you have a guest from China/Hong Kong, then your student would also need to remain at home and self quarantine for 14 days before returning to school.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
